John Kilcup

Obituary of John Murray Kilcup

Kilcup, John (Jack) Murray – Aged 71, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Ralph M & France P (Grant) Kilcup. He was born in Saint John, January 7, 1945. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Baxter Dairies(Saputo) having worked at the Dairies from shortly after high school until the time of his death - a total of 52 years. He had a highly responsible role in the company, making sure milk quality and standards were met and machines were kept clean and in good repair. More important to him was making sure the Baxter (Saputo) products met the highest standards. He was a true company man and Baxter (Saputo) has lost a valued employee. He had a very dry sense of humour, yet was reserved in his manner but deeply firm in his convictions. He was a "Ford Truck" man and loved driving them; he enjoyed spending time at his cottage, going on ATV trips with his friends, boating, photography, reading, teasing people and later in life doing genealogy. He was a good friend to everyone he met and was available if anyone needed a helping hand. He was a quiet supporter of charities. He is survived by his sister, Betty Kilcup of Saint John; his brother Kevin (Ann) Kilcup of Dartmouth, NS; Aunt & Uncle Ian & Kay Grant of Tabusintac; numerous cousins and a host of friends; fellow workers and retired workers at Baxters Dairies (Saputo) who will all miss him. Special thanks to John’s neighbours for their assistance during this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6 – 8 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 10 am. A private grave side service will follow for family only.
