Obituary of Marianne Rita Morin

It is with profound sadness that the family of Marianne Morin, loving wife to Martin Joseph Morin, announces her passing which occurred on August 28, 2016 at the Sussex Health Centre. She was born on August 3, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Albina (Boudreau) Roy. Marianne’s deep faith in God and her love for her family were central to her life and happiness. She enjoyed above all, spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughter Shanon who brought much joy to her life. Marianne had a special gift for making others feel loved and comforted by her thoughtful words, acts of service and her great generosity. She enjoyed cooking for family, playing Bingo with friends and spending time with her cat, Turbo. She is survived by her husband Martin, her daughters Kathleen Basque and Nicole (Jerome Maire) Morin-Maire, her granddaughter Shanon Maire, her siblings: Leona Shaw, Ronald Roy and Patrick Roy, along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family, and her cat Turbo. Marianne will be remembered by many for her quick wit, strength of spirit, loyalty, generosity and compassion for others. She was a very special person and will be dearly missed. Besides her parents, Marianne was predeceased by her first husband Gilles Basque, her brothers: Hector, Stanley, Alfred, Benoit, Lawrence and Louis; and by her sisters: Regina, Margaret and Eva. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, September 1st at 12:00 Noon from St. Rose of Lima, 541 Milford Road. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, SPCA or Donor’s Choice.
