Obituary of Mary Frances Laureen Shea

The death of Mary Frances Laureen "Neenie" Shea occurred on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Toronto, ON. Born on March 1, 1948 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Regina (McEvoy) Shea. Neenie is survived by her siblings, Betty Lyons of Peterborough, ON, Garey Shea (Joan McGrattan) of Saint John, NB, Barbara Shea of Toronto, ON and Donald Shea (Shelley) of Woodstock, NB; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend since grade 1, Dorothy Britton. Besides her parents, Neenie was also predeceased by her sister, Kathy. After graduating from St. Vincent’s High School, Neenie attended St. Francis Xavier University and Mount St. Bernard College. Following her completion of school, she moved to Ottawa and began working for the local MP. Her career continued with the Federal Government Taxation Office before she went into private business. Neenie then began a career in aircraft leasing, which moved her to San Antonio, TX and Sarasota, FL. In 1992, she returned to Toronto and began working with Bombardier Aerospace. Her job with Bombardier took her around the world several times. Neenie retired several years ago, due to ill health. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting at Brenan's Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 9:00 - 10:45 AM, which will be immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street, Saint John at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
