Obituary of James Brown

The death of Captain James Brown of Saint John, NB, husband of Bertha (Sulis) Brown, occurred on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Ottawa, Ontario on August 25, 1914 the son of the late David and Joan (Thomson) Brown. Jim had served from 1935 ? 1968 with the Ordinance Corp of the Canadian Army and served overseas during W.W.II. Among his interests were the Stamp Club and the Saint John Model Railroad Club, in which he had been involved for many years. Besides his wife he is survived by a nephew, Tom (Carreen) Longon of Saint John and other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Bessie Longon. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday, January 9, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005 from Brenan's Chapel at 1 pm. Interment will follow in Fernhill cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Church of St. Andrew and St. David, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or a charity of the donor's choice.
