N. Lynn Cornfield, 62 , Readfield, Maine – Lynn passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, Maine after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. Lynn was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada to Murray and Norma (Seely) Cornfield. After graduation from Saint John Vocational School and Modern Business College, Lynn spent several years in Saint John as a professional administrative assistant including at the Architecture Society of New Brunswick. She then returned to the University of New Brunswick to pursue a degree in Engineering. In 2001, Lynn graduated from UNB with a Civil Engineering Degree. After graduation she relocated to Maine to work first for the Department of Transportation’s Bridge Program and later for the Department of Environmental Protection. She loved animals above all, and competed in many Competitive Long Distance Riding Competitions with her Arabian horse "Nashia". She was never far from a four legged friend and rescued and cared for many lucky souls during her lifetime. Lynn loved gardening and could often be found building a new bed of flowers around her home. She enjoyed antiques and art, and filled her home with her treasured finds. She recently took to the water, on the lake, river or pond in her beloved Kayak or on Casco Bay aboard the "Aria" with Tim and Courtney. Lynn is survived by her parents Murray and Norma Cornfield, of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, her bother Grant and his wife Joanne of Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada and her nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the dedicated team at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta. Thank you also to the Nurses and Staff at Maine General Medical Center who helped care and comfort Lynn in her final days. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
