Obituary of Mavis Josephine Kirkpatrick

It is with great sadness the family of Mavis (Barr) Kirkpatrick, wife of Allen Kirkpatrick, announce her passing which occurred on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Perth-Andover, NB, on March 9, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Thelma (Boone) Barr. Mavis worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Wasson's (Shopper's Drug Mart) for 40 years and the last 8 years at Kennebecasis Drugs. She had a variety of interests but above all she cherished the time spent with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, whose love extended to those outside her immediate family. She will be missed by all who know her. Mavis is survived by her husband, Allen Kirkpatrick, her children; David Kirkpatrick (Kelly), Karen Kirkpatrick (Jeff Cormier), grandson Brandon Cormier, who was the light of her life, five sisters; Helen Brooker (Dale), Edna Baker, Norma McNamara (Otty), Bonnie Campbell (Tom), Wendy Campbell (Ronald), brother Robert Barr (Judy), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mavis was pre-deceased by her parents, Archie and Thelma Barr and brother-in-law, Wilmot Baker. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Interment to take place at St. Luke's Anglican Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby's Hospice, Saint John Regional Hospital - Oncology Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
