Obituary of Marion F. Blok

The death of Marion F. Blok of 1351 Manawagonish Rd. occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 7, 2004. Marion was born in Saint John, a daughter of G. Frank and M. Frances (Murphy) O'Brien. She had been employed with Canada Post and later with the Diocese of Saint John until her retirement a number of years ago. She had been a member of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, the Federal Superannuates, the Saint John Historical Society, Rocmaura Auxilary, St. Vincents Alumnie Association and the Saint John Genealogy Society. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Marijke Blok of Saint John; two sisters-in-law, Joan and Carol O'Brien, both of Saint John; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers Jay Frederick and Gregory J. O'Brien. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose De Lima Church on Monday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to Romero House, Irish Canadian Cultural Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
