Obituary of Hazel R. Holden

The death of Hazel R. Holden, widow of Walter F. Holden, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 24, 2004. Mrs. Holden was born in St. Thomas, Ont., a daughter of the late Gilbert and Myrtle (Grass) Clinansmith, and had resided in Saint John since 1948. She had been a member of the W.O.'s and Sergeants Mess Ladies Auxillary, and the Catholic Women's League. She is survived by three sons, Walter G. (Lynn Beatteay) of Saint John, Patrick J. (Alice-Marie) of Rothesay, and John F. (Bonita) of Chipman; three daughters, Theresa Murray of Franklin, N.H., Mary Ellen 'Bunny' Rouse of Garvis, Ont., and Catherine 'Cathy' Fudge (LeRoy) of Saint John; two brothers, James Clinansmith of Edmonton, and David Clinansmith of Kitchener; one sister, Joan Anderson of Edmonton; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's church on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian cancer society, would be appreciated.
