<p>Porter Dorothy Alice - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy &quot;Dot&quot; (Owens) Porter on April 5, 2014 in her 95th year, wife of the late James Porter. She was born in Saint John and was a daughter of the late Tom and Mildred (Mitchell) Owens. Dot was a volunteer and member of the Salvation Army Church for 64 years. She received a Certificate of Merit from the Saint John Fire Department this year for her years of commitment to volunteering. In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was predeceased by brothers: Herbie, Gordon and Joseph and her sister: Helen. She is survived by brothers Tom and Lloyd (Kay), many nieces and nephews and her special niece: Kelly (Owens) Moore and her sons: Joey, Charles and Jory who Dot fondly referred to as her boys. Dot will be affectionately remembered by many for her time as a Cub Scout leader and will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 1pm from The Salvation Army, 27 Prince Edward Street. Interment will take place in Ocean View Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street (634-1965).
