Obituary of Lena Teresa French

<p>The death of Lena T. French of Saint John, N.B., wife of the late Douglas J. French, occurred on January 31, 2014. Born in Stanley N.B. on May 21, 1929, Lena was a daughter of the late Zack and Evelyn (Bowmaster) Gilks of Saint John, N.B. Lena&rsquo;s family was her main priority and greatest love. Lena is survived by her children; Lois Bennett (Richard) of Waterborough, N.B., Raymond French (Jill Whitehouse) of Rothesay, Annemarie French (Claude Bourque) of Rothesay, and Douglas French (France Talbot) of Moncton; 8 grandchildren, David, Colleen, William, Isabelle, Ian, Sean, James and Catherine; 3 great grandchildren, William, Lauren and Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews. Lena is also survived by her sisters, Ina Marshall and Peggy Whitman (Jim), and brothers, Allan Gilks (Marguerite), Ashley Gilks (Lynn), Claude Gilks (Neysa) and Gary Gilks. She was predeceased by her brother Ted Gilks (Melita). Visiting will be on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 &hellip; 9:00 at Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634-1965). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo St. at 12:10 p.m. Interment to take place at St. Joseph&rsquo;s Cemetery.
