Obituary of Audrey Edith Kane

<p>Kane, Audrey E. &ndash; 1918-2013 with characteristic grace and dignity passed away at the Carleton Kirk Lodge Nursing Home, on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Born on November, 28, 1918 in Moncton, NB, she was the oldest child of Lloyd and Muriel (Mundle) Cove. She was the oldest of three children. In 1952 she married Charles Patrick Kane at our Lady of the Assumption Church. They had a child Michael Terrance born 1953 and passed away 1970. After the death of Terry, Charles and Audrey took up residence at 457 Sea Street the old Kane family home, where they fast become dear to neighbors and friends. Sadly Charlie passed away at their winter home in Daytona Beach, FL, in 1995.&nbsp; Audrey continued to live at Sea Street until at last she had to be taken to the Carleton Kirk Lodge Nursing Home. She was active in the CWL of St. Pius x Church, President and Regional convener and Diocesan convener. When the Rocmaura Nursing Home opened she volunteered and organized the first volunteer teams. She was an active member of the Western Beaches and led the way to reverse the by-law, zoning for the first time in our city&rsquo;s history. Regarding the proposal of a fertilizer plant at the bottom of Sea Street. In her earlier years she worked as a rehabilitation instructor at the Jordan Memorial Sanatorium and as a receptionist for a local doctor for many years. In Daytona Beach, FL, their winter home she belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where Charlie and Audrey had many friends and participated in the CCW in various capacities. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; son, Terrance; parents, Lloyd and Muriel (Mundle) Cove; brother, Gilbert Cove; she is survived by sister, Phyllis (Mundle) Smith; two nephews; two nieces; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. To honour Audrey&rsquo;s memory she would wish that you "be happy live well and along your path remember to be kind to others"</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Resting at <strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street</strong>, Saint John, NB (634-1965) with visiting on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Dufferin Row on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
