Obituary of David Ian Morgan

<p>The death of David Ian Morgan of Saint John, NB occurred on January 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness at age 79.&nbsp; He was a former resident of the Admiral Beatty Complex.</p> <p>David was the son of the late Cuthbert &quot;Cubby&quot; and Edna (Ready) Morgan of Saint John.&nbsp;</p> <p>He graduated from St.&nbsp; Vincent&rsquo;s Boys High School in 1953 and obtained his post-secondary education at St. Thomas University in Chatham, New Brunswick and at St. Mary&rsquo;s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; David was employed by Moosehead Breweries, both as a student from 1950 as well as a full-time employee in all facets of the brewing industry from 1957 to 1960.&nbsp; David subsequently moved to Ontario and entered the sales field.&nbsp; He was employed for over 25 years initially in the paper industry and subsequently in the carpeting industry.&nbsp; David returned to Saint John in 1986 where he worked in real estate sales, Canadian Cancer Society and the hospitality industry. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>David is survived by his son, Scott (Quincy) Morgan, of Hamilton, Ontario, his daughter; Jennifer Morgan and his grand-daughter; Jessica Morgan, both of Vancouver, BC , his former wife; Frances Alex, also of Vancouver, BC, his sisters; Mary (Mullin) Quinlan, of Los Angeles, California, Inez (Jerome) Maloney, of Oshawa, ON, and Susan (Eric) Carpenter, of Jacksonville, FL.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>He was predeceased by his three brothers; Hugh and James (1944 &ndash; WWII), and Francis Morgan, two sisters; Anita (Fred) Frommer, and Joan (Ron) LeNoach.</p> <p>In accordance with David&rsquo;s request, there will be no visitation.&nbsp; Arrangements are under the care and direction of <strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, </strong>Saint John (634-1965).&nbsp;&nbsp; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter&rsquo;s Church, 50 Clarendon Street in Saint John on Saturday, January 12<sup>th</sup>, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the family plot in St. Joseph&rsquo;s Cemetery.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations to the Paul &amp; Rita Barry Bursary Fund for UNBSJ students would be appreciated.&nbsp;&nbsp; Donations can be made through Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home or through the University of New Brunswick &ndash; Saint John (506-453-5053) or online at <a href="http://www.canadahelps.org/University">www.CanadaHelps.org/University</a> of New Brunswick designating the Fund or by cheque payable to the Paul &amp; Rita Barry Bursary Fund mailed to the University of New Brunswick, P.O.
