Obituary of David Ian Morgan
<p>The death of David Ian Morgan of Saint John, NB occurred on January 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness at age 79. He was a former resident of the Admiral Beatty Complex.</p> <p>David was the son of the late Cuthbert "Cubby" and Edna (Ready) Morgan of Saint John. </p> <p>He graduated from St. Vincent’s Boys High School in 1953 and obtained his post-secondary education at St. Thomas University in Chatham, New Brunswick and at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. David was employed by Moosehead Breweries, both as a student from 1950 as well as a full-time employee in all facets of the brewing industry from 1957 to 1960. David subsequently moved to Ontario and entered the sales field. He was employed for over 25 years initially in the paper industry and subsequently in the carpeting industry. David returned to Saint John in 1986 where he worked in real estate sales, Canadian Cancer Society and the hospitality industry. </p> <p>David is survived by his son, Scott (Quincy) Morgan, of Hamilton, Ontario, his daughter; Jennifer Morgan and his grand-daughter; Jessica Morgan, both of Vancouver, BC , his former wife; Frances Alex, also of Vancouver, BC, his sisters; Mary (Mullin) Quinlan, of Los Angeles, California, Inez (Jerome) Maloney, of Oshawa, ON, and Susan (Eric) Carpenter, of Jacksonville, FL. </p> <p>He was predeceased by his three brothers; Hugh and James (1944 – WWII), and Francis Morgan, two sisters; Anita (Fred) Frommer, and Joan (Ron) LeNoach.</p> <p>In accordance with David’s request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of <strong>Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, </strong>Saint John (634-1965). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street in Saint John on Saturday, January 12<sup>th</sup>, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to take place in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations to the Paul & Rita Barry Bursary Fund for UNBSJ students would be appreciated.
