Obituary of Marion Edna Debly

<p>It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Marion Edna Debly.&nbsp; Marion, wife of the late Asied John Debly, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, on January 6, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Foran) Henry.&nbsp; Marion was a Veteran of World War II, where she served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Marion was born and brought up in the East End of the city, and always spoke of how she enjoyed living in that close-knit multi-cultural part of the city.&nbsp; At age 18, she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, and served in Canada during World War II.&nbsp; After the war, she returned to her community, where she married and began her family.&nbsp; As her family grew, they moved to Red Head where she has lived since 1956.&nbsp; Marion&rsquo;s life revolved around her children and grandchildren.&nbsp; As the matriarch of her family, her wisdom and humour will be dearly missed.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Marion is survived by her children, Nina Debly-Diggle (Philip) of Clifton Royal, Charles Debly (Margo) of Saint John, Louis Debly of Litchfield, ME, John Debly (Tobbi) of French Village, Teresa Debly of Saint John, Lawrence Debly (Pam) of Saint John, and Lila Debly of Kingston Peninsula, NB; her sister, Marjorie Short of Brampton, ON; her brother, William "Bill" Henry (Anne) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Catherine Debly, Avalon and Nicholas Diggle, Maria, Adam, Jon, Devin, Joseph, Telina, Irisa, Kyla, Autumn, and Zev Debly; as well as several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Resting at <strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street,</strong> Saint John, (634-1965), with visiting on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at &nbsp;12:10 PM from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John.&nbsp; Entombment will take place at a later date in the Debly Family Cemetery, Otter Lake Road.&nbsp; For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to any charity of the donor&rsquo;s choice would be appreciated by the family.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
