Obituary of Daniel E. Morrisey

The death of Daniel Emeric "Danny" Morrisey of Titusville, NB, husband of Pattie (Bishop-McCarthy) Morrisey, occurred at his residence on Friday, March 30, 2012. Born at Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Daniel Patrick and Martha Ann (Huckins) Morrisey. Danny owned and operated Dan's Restaurant on Charlotte Street for many years. He then worked at the Gladstone Tavern. Danny was a bartender at the 3 Mile Tavern for eighteen years before working at Kasey's until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Council in Sussex and also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Sussex. Danny enjoyed running, especially the Terry Fox Marathon in Vancouver. He was also involved with volunteering and fundraising, for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and AIDS New Brunswick. Danny was an avid reader and loved his menagerie of pets. Besides his wife, Danny is survived by his children, Deborah Morrisey (Peter Robichaud) of Willow Grove, NB, Mary Gail Morrisey of Vancouver, BC, Jennifer Joyce Marie Molto (David) of Steveston, BC, Michael Morrisey (Tammy) of Ottawa, ON and James H. Morrisey of Saint John; step-daughters, Stephanie McCarthy (Matt Ryan), Angie Rowe (Harry); grandchildren, Garrett and Samantha Greer, James C Morrisey, Amber Morrisey, Mateo Morrisey, Patrick and Kathleen Molto, Christopher and Connor Morrisey, Alex and Ethan McCarthy, Kayla McCarthy, Deklan and Gavin Rowe; special great-granddaughter, Brooke Tsvetkov; sister, Ann Marie Morrisey, as well as several nieces and nephews. Danny was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Niles; son, Daniel Patrick; brothers, Herman, Patrick, Daniel Clement; sisters, Theresa, Mary Kathleen and Lenora (Nonie). Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB (634-1965) with visiting on Tuesday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 12:05 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
