Obituary of S. Elizabeth TOLAN

TOLAN, S. Elizabeth-the death of S. Elizabeth "Liz" Tolan of 55 Magazine St., occurred at Bobby's Hospice on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Liz was born in Saint John on October 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn (George) Tolan. She had been employed as a stenographer with Home Insurance until her retirement. She had been a member of the St. Peter's Mixed Bowling League and the Catholic Women's League. She had served on the Finance Committee of St. Peter's Parish. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice (her twin) and Margaret; and a nephew, Chris Finlay. She is survived by four sisters, Shirley (Ray) Butler, Rita (Charles) Olive, Barbara (Pete) Finlay, and Mary Evelyn (Merlin) Frauley, all of Saint John; several nieces and nephews; and three grandnephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
