Obituary of John A. Alexander

<p>ALEXANDER, JOHN A.- The death of John Andrew Alexander, husband of the late Mary Margaret (McKenna) Alexander, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday October 21, 2011. John was born in Montreal P.Q. on Feb. 21, 1915, a son of the late John Harold and Edith (Andrews) Alexander. He graduated from McGill University (Engineering) in 1938.</p> <p>He was an engineer with Irving Oil for many years, working at numerous plants in New Brunswick. He was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of New Brunswick and was a longtime member of the Cathedral parish. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Mary Margaret McKenna, in 1987; by his second wife, the former Irene Daley, in 2005; his sister, Margot Grossmith; and an infant son, Christopher.</p> <p>He is survived by three sons, Andrew of Saint John; Harold of Cape Pele, and Stephen of Calgary; one daughter, Sister Elaine Alexander, S.C.I.C., of Saint John; one sister, Janet Edgerly of Pointe Claire, Quebec; and several nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in Ward's Creek Cemetery, Ward's Creek, N.B.</p>
