Obituary of Gertrude M. Currie

CURRIE-the death of Miss Gertrude M. Currie occurred at Kennebec Manor on Friday, January 15, 2010. Miss Currie was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late William and Susan (McManus) Currie. She had been employed as a sales clerk at Manchester Robertson Allison and Calp's for many years. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Coughlan, in 1998. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Assumption and St. Joachim's parishes. She is survived seven nieces and nephews, Richard Coughlan (Patty) of Burlington, Ont., Betty Cummings (Mike) of Sussex, Suzanne McKenna (Joe) of Moncton, Carole Graham of Saint John, Arthur Coughlan Lynn) of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Thomas Coughlan (Joanne) of Saint John, and Joan McGarvey (Phil) of Saint John; 21 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 20 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church on Monday at twelve o'clock. Entombment will take place at Fernhill Vault with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring.
