Obituary of Catherine Mary Wakim

WAKIM-the death of Catherine Mary Wakim of Toronto occurred at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Miss Wakim was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Arthur S. and Emma (Emin) Wakim, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John, where she had been employed with the civil service. Catherine then moved to Toronto where she was also employed with the civil service until her retirement. She is survived by one brother, Sam (Marty) Wakim of Toronto; four sisters, Theresa Stephen and Mary Wakim, both of Toronto, Cecilia Shannon of Saint John, and Helen Haddad of Boston; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
