Obituary of James Vincent Mudge

MUDGE-James Vincent "Vince" Mudge of Saint John passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009, after a period of failing health. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Vince was born in Saint John on July 12, 1914, a son of the late James Edward and Mary (Brawley) Mudge. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Foreman) Mudge; four sons, James (Joy) of Saint John, Patrick of Thamesford, Ont., Francis of Halifax, and John of Saint John; three daughters, Anne Redmond of Rothesay, Jean (David) Webster of Dartmouth, N.S., and Mary (Thomas) O'Connell of Saint John; one sister, Madelon Peters of Rocmaura Nursing Home; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Brown of Fair Vale, N.B., and Kathleen McLaughlin of London, Ont. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
