Obituary of Phyllis M. Sledmere

SLEDMERE-the death of Phyllis M. Sledmere of 22 Creighton Ave., widow of Arthur Sledmere, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, April 13, 2009. Mrs. Sledmere was born in Boom Rd., Northumberland Co., a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Mullin) Howe, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She had been a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Women's League for over forty years. She is survived by a son, Paul (Janet) of Pickering, Ont.; a daughter, Mary Stiles (Doug) of Fredericton; seven grandchildren, Kurt, Patrick, Michael, Shaun, and Mark Stiles, and Adam and Kelly Sledmere; and three great-grandsons, Connor, Morgan, and William Stiles. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church on Friday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations to ST. Joachim's Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
