Obituary of Charles J. Landry

LANDRY-the death of Charles J. Landry of 57 Edith Ave., husband of Marie R. (LeBlanc) Landry, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Mr. Landry was born in Caraquet, a son of the late Marcellin and Clementine (Trudel) Landry, and had resided in Saint John since 1943. He had been employed at McAvity's and most of his career at Centracare. He was an avid carpenter and enjoyed making furniture for family and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert (Agnes), Leonard (Sharon), and Kenneth (Marilyn), all of Saint John, and Donald (Anita) of Ottawa; two daughters, Lodienne Arseneau (Hubert), and Anna Hickman (Brian), both of Saint John; two brothers, Sylvestre and Gerard Landry, both of Caraquet; one sister, Lodienne Doiron of Caraquet; 9 grandchildren, Aileen Arseneau (Allan), Amanda Arseneau (Richard), Lynette Landry (Bryan), Nichole Landry, Kristina Landry, Katelyn Landry,Chantel Landry Meredith Ozen (Evron), and Lindsay Hickman; 6 great-grandchildren, Samarah, Ashley, Dylan, Dale, Skyler, and Reilly; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday morning at 10:30. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
