Obituary of M. Beatrice Howard

The death of Mrs. M. Beatrice Howard of Rocmaura Nursing Home, widow of Joseph T. Howard, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 22, 2004. Mrs. Howard was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Thomas and Estella (McCluskey) McGrath. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School and Mount Carmel Academy. She was a Life Member of St. Vincent's Alumnae, the Catholic Women's League, and the Legion of Mary.She was pre-deceased by a brother, Bernard J. McGrath. She is survived by one son, Thomas W. (Marcia Ruby) of Kitchener, Ont.; one daughter, Mary E. Large of Charlottetown; one sister, Mrs. Carmelita McIntyre of Saint John; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gloria McGrath and Miss Helen Howard, both of Saint John; five grandchildren, Amelia and Kate Howard, and Carol, Angela, and Andrew Large; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Romero House-Soup Kitchen or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Bea's care givers, Mary Lou Williams, the Staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home, and the Staff of 5C South Saint John Regional Hospital for all their kindness.
