Obituary of Sister Susan J. MacDonald

MacDONALD-the death of Sister Susan J. MacDonald (Sr. Mary Victorine) occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Sister Susan was born in Harcourt, N.B., a daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Morton) MacDonald. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on December 7, 1927. Sister taught at several schools in various provinces throughout Canada during her teaching career, which included Woodstock, Silver Falls, Maisey's & St. Stephen, N.B.; Vancouver and Powell River, B.C.; Nostalgia, Quebec, and Digby, N.S. Upon her retirement from teaching Sister Susan ministered to the residents at Rocmaura Nursing Home by volunteering her skills as an Arts and Crafts instructor. She was predeceased by six brothers, Father Angus MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Malcolm MacDonald, Thomas MacDonald, Rainsforth MacDonald, and Louis MacDonald; and three sisters, Sister Sarah MacDonald, S.C.I.C., Helen MacDonald, and Patricia MacDonald. She is survived by one sister, Miss Rita MacDonald of Rexton, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at St. Vincent's Convent, 31 Cliff St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Evening Vigil Service will be held on Monday evening at seven o'clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent's Chapel on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock.
