Obituary of Eleanor G. Hughes

HUGHES-the death of Eleanor G. Hughes of 32 Riverdale Drive, Hampton, wife of T. David Hughes, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 1, 2007. Mrs. Hughes was born in Sussex, a daughter of the late Bernard and Gertrude (Long) O'Connor. She was co-owner of Hughes Home Construction and had been a lifelong devoted Catholic. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul O'Connor; and a sister, Yvonne Simkins. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Matthew Hughes (Andrea) of Quispamsis; her daughter, Monica Hughes of Quispamsis; her brother, Joseph O'Connor of Hamilton, Ont.; three sisters, Imelda O'Connor of Saint John, Anne O'Connor of Moncton, and Elizabeth Campbell of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
