Obituary of Jeannette Alannah Blackwell

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jeannette Alannah (Tobias) Blackwell at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 7, 2007. She was born in Saint John on January 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Saleeba and Jean (Khouri) Tobias. Alannah's natural flair for all things beautiful led her to a career in beauty and fashion, starting in Saint John and continuing in Vancouver. In recent years, due to failing health, she returned home to be near her family. She was predeceased by five brothers, Frederick, Louis, David, Jamael, and Francis and a sister, Victoria. She is survived by her husband, Dean Blackwell; one brother, Peter Tobias (Linda) of Rothesay two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Laura Tobias, both of Saint John; special friend, Dianne Blizzard; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Following cremation, the family will receive friends and relatives at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Donations to the Dr. David Stephen Foundation; The Arthritis Society; or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
