Obituary of Joseph Wilband

WILBAND-the death of M. Joseph "Joe" Wilband of Cambridge-Narrows, husband of June F. (Walker) Wilband, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital of Wednesday, February 28, 2007, with his family at his side. He was born in Saint John, a son of the late Stephen and Clara (McLean) Wilband. Joe had been employed as a painter with J. H. Poolen Ltd. and School District 8 until his retirement a number of years ago. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Aubrey and Francis Wilband; and two sisters, Patricia Coughlan and Rita Hawkes. Besides his wife of fifty years, he is survived by one brother, Edward of Saint John; five sisters, Agnes Whitaker of Saint John, Ruth Lyman of DeMoines, Iowa, Louise Pagliaro of Tampa, Fla., and Claire Partridge and Joan DeVore (Gilbert), both of Gilbert, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Anita Wilband of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday from 7 to 9 and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
