Obituary of Thomas J. Dunn

DUNN-the death of Thomas J. Dunn of 995 Grandview Ave., husband of the late Jeannette M. (Lavoie) Dunn, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 16, 2007. Tom was born in Redmondville, N.B., a son of the late William and Annie (Sullivan) Dunn, and had resided in Saint John since 1946. He had been employed with John Flood & Sons as a foreman for many years. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Canadian Army in British Columbia. He loved gardening. He was predeceased by his three sons, Kenneth, Michael, and Brian. He is survived by two daughters, Doreen Harrison (Gordon) of Lower Sackville, N.S., and Pauline Winters (Stan) of Baxter's Corner; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of N.B. or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers that took care of Tom in his home.
