Obituary of Mary Lynn Montague

With family and friends at her side, and with strong and enduring faith, Mary Lynn Montague passed peacefully into the arms of God on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a heroic struggle with cancer. Lynn was the eldest daughter of the late Albert "Bunker" and Marie (McGillicuddy) Montague and was a life long resident of Fairville. Lynn was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School, St. Francis Xavier University, and the University of New Brunswick. She was employed with School District #8, teaching 25 years at St. John the Baptist and King Edward School. Lynn was an active member of her beloved Church of St. Rose of Lima, having served on the parish council, as a lay reader, and as a catechism teacher. Lynn was similarly active in numerous community and social organizations. Lynn's passion and focus was her family. She was predeceased by her youngest sister, Debbie; and her first niece, Jennifer Lawton. Lynn will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her surviving family that includes her brother, Paul of Saint John; and her three sisters, Judy Lawton (John), Jane Peters (Robert), and Kathy Brown (Kevin), all of Saint John; as well as her "adopted" sister, Meridith Allaby. Lynn is also survived by her nine nephews and nieces to whom she was so special: Kathy Belanger (Stephane) and Michael Peters, Lori and Jeff Lawton; Patrick, Timothy, and Paul Montague; and Christopher and Andrew Brown. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrate at St. Rose of Lima Church on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
