Obituary of Marie A. Montague

Marie A. Montague of 507 Prospect St. West passed very peacefully into God's hands at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 16, 2006, surrounded by her husband, family, and friends. Marie was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Daniel and Annie (Doyle) McGillicuddy, and had been a lifelong resident of Fairville and member of St. Rose of Lima Church. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Debbie, in 1986, her first grandchild, Jennifer Lawton, in 1999; her brother, Joseph McGillicuddy; and her sisters, Helen McGillicuddy and Alice Nielsen. She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, J. Albert "Bunker" Montague; five children, Lynn Montague, Paul Montague, Judy Lawton (John), Jane Peters (Robert), and Kathy Brown (Kevin), all of Saint John; one brother, Francis "Bud" McGillicuddy (Shirley) of Saint John; one sister, Madeline Hayes of Dundas, Ont.; her eight grandchildren whom she took great joy in being so actively involved with, Lori and Jeff Lawton, Patrick, Timothy, and Paul Montague, Kathy Belanger (Stephane) and Michael Peters, and Christopher and Andrew Brown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as her "adopted" daughter and friend, Meridith Allaby; and special friends, Kathy MacDonald and Claire Gogan. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
