Obituary of Mary Kathryn Elaine Donovan

The family of Mary Donovan said good bye to their beautiful darling beloved girl on Thursday, November 30th at the Toronto Sick Children's Hospital. She peacefully passed away following a Bone Marrow Transplant, surrounded by love, both physically and spiritually. Her courage was awe inspiring. Mary, 15, was a grade 10 student at Kennebecasis Valley High School. She leaves behind her devoted parents,Patty Donovan and Dale Jackson; her brave supportive twin, Hanna; and her loving siblings, Emma and Zech; her grandparents Mary Donovan (the late Leo C. "Pat") of Saint John, and Elaine and Richard Jackson of St. Stephen; great-grandmother, Mae Jackson of St. Stephen; special aunt, Teresa (Mark) Goldsmith of Rothesay, and cousins Tovah, Ali, and Ethan Goldsmith. We love you Mary. Mary will also be missed by aunts and uncles, Ron and Linda Donovan of Quispamsis, Lynn and Paul Ward of Moncton, Anna and Larry Lamb of Cranbrook, N.C., Peggy and Frank Ramsay of Moncton, Penny and John McNamee of Saint John, Martha and Peter Davidson of Moncton, Danny Donovan of Grand Bay, Leo and Cathy Donovan of Quispamsis, Darlene Jackson of Victoria, B.C., Kerry Jackson of St. Stephen, Kevin and Vicky Jackson of Millford, N.S., Michael and Pam Jackson of Scarborough, Ont., and Mark and Michelle Jackson of Richmond, Ont.; godparents Robb Donovan, Linda Peters, and Angela Roberts; and her many cousins and friends. "Be the change you wish to see in the world" was Mary's motto that she lived by. Her generous spirit never faltered, even in the end with her wish to be an organ donor, her desire to help others will be fulfilled. We are grateful for her having honored us with her presence and we will carry her in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SJRH Pediatric Oncology Clinic; the IWK Hospital for Sick Children, or Hospice of Saint John. The family is too grief stricken at the time to provide an immediate funeral service. A celebration of Mary's life will be held in the near future.
