Obituary of Francis G. Cooper

COOPER-the death of Francis G. 'Puzzy' Cooper of 25 Daniel Ave., husband of Agnes M. (Joyce) Cooper, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 7, 2003. Mr. Cooper was born in Saint John, a son of the late Walter and Maud (Hurley) Cooper. He had served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy and was a Past-President of Carleton Branch Royal Canadian Legion 2. He had been a longshoreman until his retirement a number of years ago. He was a frequent visitor to the City Market. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Kenneth F. (Carol) of Saint John; two daughters, Sandra Emery (Rob),and Francine Cooper, both of Saint John; two brothers, Harold 'Tootie' and David, both of Saint John; one sister, Jean Valardo of Saint John; two grandsons, Scott and Geoffrey Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in the Field of Honour in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Legion Memorial Service on Wednesday evening at 7:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
