Obituary of Robert Alexander Keenan

KEENAN-the death of Robert Alexander "Sandy" Keenan of 474 Gondola Point Rd., Quispamsis, husband of M. Olive (Brown) Keenan, occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, September 18, 2006. Mr. Keenan was born in Saint John in 1931, a son of the late James and Catherine (MacDonald) Keenan. Sandy worked very hard all his life and was a master of his craft of masonry. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle Colgan; a half-brother, James R. Keenan; and a half-sister, Leona Harrington. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Catherine Keenan of Quispamsis, Nancy Coghill of Regina ,and Lynn Newman (Jeff) of Nepean, Ont.; one step-daughter, Pat Hughes of Regina; two brothers, Duncan Keenan (Theresa) of Saint John, and Gerard Holmden Keenan (Maura) of Fredericton; one sister, Rosemary Higgins (Robert J.) of Saint John; one half-sister, Zita Owens of Richmond, Quebec; four grandchildren, Jordan and Mason Coghill, and Laura and Max Newman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Rothesay.
