Obituary of George E. Burke

BURKE-the death of George E. Burke of 50 Charlton Place occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, February 17, 2006. Mr. Burke was born in Saint John, a son of the late Alexander and Alice (Arsenault) Burke. He had been employed as a baker with General Bakeries, Eastern Bakeries, and the French Pastry Shop. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Burke; and two sisters, Marion and Alice Burke. He is survived by two brothers, James (Clara) of Saint John, and Vincent of Ontario; three sisters, Louise Brennan, Alma Bourgeois (Edward), and Betty Marks (Reginald), all of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
