Obituary of Eleanor M. King

KING-the death of Eleanor M. King, formerly of 111 Sydney St., widow of Stephen King, occurred peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Thursday, August 28, 2003. Mrs. King was born in Dorchester, N.B., a daughter of the late Richard and Kathryn (Shea) Whalen. Following her marriage, she moved to Toronto and worked for many years as a much loved employee of McLeod, Young, and Weir (Scotia-McLeod) . Following Stephen's death she returned to Saint John. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Marjorie Wilson; and two brothers, Lee and Paul Whalen. She is survived by her sister, Eileen McCurdy of Saint John; nieces Mary Lee Johnston (Ron), Ann Green (Bob) and Eleanor Kelly (John), all of Saint John, as well as nieces and nephews across the country. Following cremation, interment took place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Romero House or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Eleanor's family wish to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the CAM Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital and Rocmaura Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
