Obituary of J. Bernadin Saulnier

The death of J. Bernadin 'Bernie' Saulnier of Central Greenwich, husband of M. Doris (LeBlanc) Saulnier, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Mr. Saulnier was born in Meteghan, N.S., a son of the late Louis and Louise (Theriault) Saulnier, and had resided in Saint John since 1940. He had been employed as a steel erector with Ocean Steel for many years. He had been an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He was pre-deceased by two sons, Thomas and Richard; and one daughter, Rose Emma. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Norbert 'Bobby' (Margaret of Central Greenwich; three daughters, Louise Cave (Michael) and Carol Quinn (Edward), both of Saint John, and Joan Collins (Robert) of Rothesay; one brother, Alphonse (Jeanette) of Salmon River, N.S.; one sister, Marguerite Saulnier of Meteghan; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation; the Canadian Cancer Society; or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
