Obituary of Gelas J. Gallant

The death of Gelas J. Gallant of the Turnbull Home, husband of Irene (Cormier) Gallant, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Mr. Gallant was born in Collette, a son of the late Cyrus and Josephine (Gallant) Gallant, and had resided in Saint John since 1942. He had been employed with Irving Oil until his retirement a number of years ago. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Cyril Gallant; and a sister, Bella Doucette. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberley Ann Collins (Carl) of Hampton, and Beverley Ann Bustard of Willow Grove; two brothers, Emile (Edna) of Rothesay, and Francis (Carol) of Vancouver; three sisters, Dora Thibodeau (Leo) of Collette, Anna Richard of Saint John, and Rena Corey (Merle) of Saint John; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock.
