Obituary of Alice M. Glennie

GLENNIE-Alice M. Glennie of 20 Prince Edward St., Saint John, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, February 21, 2005. She was born in Saint John on August 15, 1909, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Louise (Fudge) Glennie. Alice was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School, Saint John, and the Fifth Avenue Hospital of Nursing, New York City. She was Administrative Supervisor at the New York Medical College Flower-Fifth Avenue Hospital for 20 years, and at the time of her retirement in 1977 had been Assistant Director of Nursing for 10 years. She was President of the Fifth Avenue Hospital Nurses' Alumnae Association. Alice returned to Saint John in 1992, and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Cathedral Parish C.W.L. She is survived by two nieces, Mary Lou Bourgeois, and Alice Ann (Barry) Monroe; and three nephews, Peter (Nancy) Glennie, Raymond (Judy) Glennie, and Gregory (Jane) Glennie. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., Saint John, with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 12 noon. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
