Obituary of Sister Genevieve T. Dooling

The death of Sister Genevieve T. Dooling (Sr. Mary Zoe) of Ruth Ross Residence occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 31, 2004. Sister was born in Goulds, Newfoundland, a duaghter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Byrne) Dooling. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on September 8, 1938. Sister Dooling served in the care of children and the elderly as well as a homemaker in various areas of New Brunswick, including Saint John, Fredericton, Woodstock, and St. Stephen. While in Venosta, Quebec, Sister Genevieve studied music and shared her musical gifts of organist and choir director wherever she went. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family, being survived by several nieces and nephews. Resting at St. Vincent's Convent, 31 Cliff St., with visiting on Sunday from 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent's Convent Chapel on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Prayer Vigil will be held on Monday evening at seven o'clock.
