Obituary of Betty D. Beckwith

The death of Mrs. Betty D. Beckwith of 15 Heron St., widow of Francis V. Beckwith, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 18, 2004. Mrs. Beckwith was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Clement H. and Kathleen M. (Wood) Callaghan. She had been employed with New System Laundry until her retirement a number of years ago. She served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was an avid bowler and bingo player. She was pre-deceased by three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three sons, Harold Callaghan (Lorna) of French Village, Stephen Beckwith (Jillise) of Saint John, and John Beckwith (Gail) of Red Head; three daughters, Gloria Estabrooks (Doug) of Saint John, Judy Callaghan of Bellisle, and Susan (Beckwith (Kevin) of Saint John; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., where service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Visiting on Sunday from 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
