Obituary of Roland Stanley Little

Roland Stanley Little

July 4, 1936 – May 4, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Roland Stanley Little announce his passing at Turnbull Nursing Home in Saint John, NB on May 4, 2021. Born in Kouchibouguac, NB on July 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Alden and Gertrude (MacDonald) Little.

For over 34 years, Roland was a heavy equipment operator at J.D. Irving Equipment Ltd. in Saint John. Upon retirement, he moved back to his home town to operate a hobby farm with cows, horses, pigs, chickens and stray cats.  He was an avid card player and gardener, having several gardens scattered throughout his property, and wouldn’t miss participating at the weekly farmer’s market during the summer. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his wife Annette, children and grandchildren, and his many friends in the community, who could always rely on Roland to put a smile on their faces.

Roland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Annette (Blanchard); his daughters Elaine (Stephen Hamet) Little and Patty (Patrick) O’Brien; his sons Alan and Corey Little; his grandchildren Sheldon and Madison O’Brien; nephews; grand-nieces and a grand-nephew.

Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Harold Little.

Family members would like to thank the nurses and staff at Turnbull Nursing Home for the care and compassion they provided to their father.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (634-7425) Due to current public health restrictions and in keeping with Roland’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
