Obituary of Gerald Parnell White

It is with sadness the family of Gerald Parnell White of Quispamsis, husband of Treva (Doherty) White, announces his passing, which occurred on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 22, 1935 in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Freeman and Dorothy (Williams) White. Gerry was an accountant for Saint John Ship Building for several years, retiring in 1988, then working for several years at the Halifax Ship Yard. He was a member of the Riverside and Hampton Golf Clubs, he enjoyed traveling to many places with Treva, but his favorite place was New Zealand and fishing in the Yukon. Besides his wife, Gerry is survived by his son Jeffrey White of Tampa, FL, daughters, Joy White of Victoria, BC, and Carla Harris (Bruce) of Quispamsis, sister Verna Baxter of Quispamsis, grandchildren; Joshua, Jordan, Jesse, Madison, and Jackson White, special friends, Howard Garvey, Ken Cochrane, and Claudia Small, brother-in-law Alan Kelly of Quispamsis, sister-in-law Elsie White of BC, daughter-in-law Shi-Ann White of Sackville, NS, as well as several nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Jim White, and sister Doreen Kelly. Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral Service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place in Red Bank United Church Cemetery, Chipman, NB.
