Obituary of Barry George Prosser

It is with great sadness that the family of Barry Prosser of Quispamsis, beloved husband of Gillian “Jill” (Scott) Prosser, announce his death on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Warrington, England on June 28th, 1947, he was the son of the late George and Winnifred (Simcock) Prosser. Barry was employed in the financial industry and together with his family operated a financial planning practice. He was a faithful member of Kennebecasis Baptist Church and was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58. Barry loved his family dearly and treasured all the special times they shared together. He especially adored his precious grandchildren, who will always remember their Grandad as awesome, playful, devoted and loving. Besides his wife, Gillian, Barry is also survived by his daughter, Claire Gilliland (Jeffrey) of Quispamsis; his son, Matthew Prosser (Michelle Cook) of Rothesay and three special grandchildren, Kara and Evan Gilliland and Audrey Prosser. The Prosser family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ansar Hassan; as well as, to the nurses and staff of the SICU at the SJRH, for providing Barry with such excellent care....the support and concern shown towards him and our family will never be forgotten. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 30th, 2011, at Kennebecasis Baptist Church, 383 Hampton Road, Quispamsis, at 1:00 PM.
