Obituary of Harold D. MacFarlane

The death of Harold D. MacFarlane of Nerepis Road, Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of the late Ethel (Sherriff) MacFarlane, occurred on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Horace and Mildred (Roberts) MacFarlane. Harold worked various positions with the CNR for 40 years, before his retirement in December of 1986. He was a member of the CN Pensioners Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by two sons, Harold "Holly" MacFarlane (Margaret) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Wayne MacFarlane (Donna) of Halifax, NS, one daughter, Valerie Parker (Anthony) of Fort McMurray, AB, two sisters, Anne Gallop (Roy) of Lorneville and Thelma Brown of Montreal, PQ, five grandchildren, Tracey and Angela Parker and Michael, Andrew and Daniel MacFarlane, two great grandchildren, Samantha and Alexis, two nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Horace MacFarlane and one sister, Irene Thompson. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the Lorneville Community Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
