Obituary of Charles Frederick Doherty

The death of Mr. Charles Frederick Doherty of Heritage Gardens, Saint John West, beloved husband, father and grandfather, occurred on Friday, December 13, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late John and Cora (Coulsey) Doherty. Mr. Doherty was a dispatcher with Irving Oil Ltd. for many years, before his retirement and was employed with South Hampton Contractors for over 25 years. He was an avid hockey and baseball fan, a great story teller and dedicated family man. Papa was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew him He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Ferguson) Doherty, one daughter, Sharon Francis (Brian) of Saint John, one brother, William Doherty of Saint John, two sisters, Althea Steeves of Saint John and Mary Barrett of Fredericton, two grandchildren, Michelle Anne Francis of Halifax, NS and Amy Vanessa Francis, of Saint John, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Hazen Doherty and three sisters, Marguerite Troy, Estelle Harris and Theresa Cusack. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Bay View Chapel on Monday, December 16, 2002 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Wilmot Cemetery, Fredericton in the spring. Remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital, Dialysis Unit or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
