Obituary of Howard Perley Makepeace

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Howard Perley Makepeace, age 74 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Born on July 5, 1937 he was the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Makepeace. He was an avid lover of hockey and baseball and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Howard is survived by his sons, Scott (Jacqueline), Hampstead; Shaun (Rhonda), Lower Greenwich; Brent, Brown's Flat; 4 grandchildren: David and Sarah; Ryan and Katelyn and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Howard was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick and Harry; sister, Amy Sutton, and very special companion Elaine Farris. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Saint John Regional Hospital for all their care and support. Following cremation, a memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 1 pm at Brenan's Bay View Chapel, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West. Interment to follow at Brown's Flat Anglican Cemetery. Remembrances in Howard's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society and Bobby's Hospice would be greatly appreciated.Â
