Obituary of Lawrence Wayne Greer

Unexpectedly in Long Lake, AB the death of Larry Greer, husband of Marjorie "Pinky" Greer occurred on Monday, April 2, 2012. He was born on November 12, 1948 in Saint John to Audrey (Porter) (Greer) Forgey and the late James Greer. Larry was a Millwright by trade and worked in Saint John for over 30 years, until he found work in Alberta spending the last 10 years there on and off; finishing with Jacob's Construction. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time at the camp. Larry had various secret tree stands and fishing holes, their location is still a mystery to most. He was a member of the NB Local #2262 Millwrights and the AB Local #1460 Millwrights. Above all Larry was devoted to his wife and family, he was the boys #1 fan at their sporting events. Besides his wife of over 42 years, Pinky, and his mother, Larry is survived by a son, Peter Greer (Nancy Rice) of Grand Bay Westfield; daughter, Stacy Mills (Shawn) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brother, Steven Forgey (Chantel); sisters: Patricia Seeds (Roy Neil), Debra Greer and Denise Baille (Don); grandchildren: Matthew, Kristin, Mitchell, Brett, Josie and Cody and several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Larry was predeceased by his brother, Walter and sister, Maxine. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visitation on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.
