Obituary of Hugh Ernest McKillop

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Hugh Ernest McKillop of Saint John, NB, husband of Sylvia Doreen (Burtt) McKillop, which occurred on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at his residence. Born on January 24, 1932 in Weldford, Kent County, he was a son of the late William and Euphemia (Cail) McKillop. Hugh was employed with the Provincial Government as a chef retiring from Workman's Compensation Rehab Centre Grand Bay. He was a Warden of the Church of the Good Shepherd;Â loved his Toronto Maple Leafs, and Sea Dogs and was an avid bowler. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Craig McKillop of Toronto and Peter McKillop (Lynn Campbell) of Welsford; two daughters, Gwendolyn O'Brien of Saint John and Joselyn Duke (Kenneth) of London, ON; two brothers, Graham McKillop (Joyce) of Moncton and Lloyd McKillop of Rexton; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Meghan O'Brien, Evan and Emily Duke, two step-grandchildren, Brennan and Sarah Campbell; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by eight brothers, Charles, James, Aubrey, Edgar, Phillip, Adair, Stanley and Robert; five sisters, Sybil, Eliza, Ella, Sophie and Bessie. Â Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the Church of the Good Shepherd on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension.
