Obituary of Bruce Irvin Anderson
Sadly and unexpectedly, Bruce Irvin Anderson of Grand Bay-Westfield, husband of Joan Marie (McDonald) Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Woodstock on May 4, 1961, he was a son of Marion (Simonds) Anderson and the late Irvin Anderson. Bruce was currently employed with Parts for Trucks as a truck and trailer diesel mechanic and shop supervisor, and was previously and owner-operator of his own truck, as well as driving some on the weekends for W. I Anderson and Son, a company he owned with his father. Bruce was very dependable and devoted to his job, going out at all hours to get the truckers back on the road after a break-down. He was a talented mechanic, who was known to make his own parts if he couldn't get the one he wanted, and was really a jack-of-all-trades and a perfectionist when it came to fixing things, spending as much time in his garage as his house. Above all, Bruce was devoted to his family, and the last two years enjoyed the time spent with his grandson, who was the apple of his eye. Bruce is survived by his wife, Joan Anderson; three sons, Jarrid Anderson (Courtney) of Hoyt, Jordan Anderson and Benjamin Anderson, both of Grand Bay-Westfield; a daughter, Amanda Estey of Fredericton; a grandson, Connor; his mother, Marion Anderson of Grand Bay-Westfield; his mother-in-law, Betty McDonald of Grand Bay-Westfield; sisters Louise Romikat (Alvin) of Morrisdale, Susan Ervin (Mike) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Debbie Zed (Derek) of Lower Greenwich, and Georgette Petryshen (Trent) of Welsford; brothers-in-law John McDonald (Tracey) of Edmonton, AB, Ron McDonald (Joan) of Fredericton, and Bill McDonald (Sue) of Saint John; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bruce was predeceased by his father, Irvin Anderson, and his father-in-law, Gardiner McDonald. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Thursday and Friday, August 11 and 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM from Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Westfield.  For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
