Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth Wright

Barbara Elizabeth Wright (Nanny Barb) of Public Landing, wife of James B. Wright, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on September 9, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Irene (Cave) Reid. Barb worked at Coca-Cola Bottling for several years. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church, where she was active with the Hope Mission. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch #87 of the Royal Canadian Legion. In her spare time, Barb liked to knit. In addition to her husband, Barb is survived by five children, Aubrey MacLeod (Jeanette) of Greenwood, NS, Robert MacLeod (Tara) of Bradley Lake, Beth Donald (Terry) of Browns Flat, William MacLeod of Edmonton, AB, and Troy Estey (Tanya) of Public Landing; step-children Doug Wright of Calgary, AB, Kim Wright of Calgary, Mark Wright of Saint John, Greg Wright (Robin) of Nerepis, Rose Wright (Les Reicker) of Kars, Jeff Wright (Bev Sinfield) of Calgary, and Bev Fulton (Ron) of Grand Bay-Westfield; brothers Lloyd Reid (Ann) of Midland, and William Reid (Bunny) of Saint John; a sister-in-law, Carol Reid of Hampton; 30 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by a brother, Robert Reid. Although there will be no visiting time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Main Street Baptist Church. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Hope Mission at Main Street Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425).
