Obituary of Eva Elizabeth Chambers Lamport

Eva Elizabeth Chambers-Lamport of Grand Bay, wife of the late Jack Denton Lamport, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Apohaqui, Kings County on April 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. and Mary M. (Crawford) Chambers. Eva worked as a secretary for J. D. Irving, Limited, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of the Professional Secretaries Association, the Saint John Art Club, the Royal United Institute of New Brunswick, and the Westfield Golf and Country Social Club. Eva and Jack loved traveling, visiting many destinations over the years, and Eva had a passion for shopping. Eva was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Eva is survived by nieces Cindy Solinsky (Fred) and her family of Ohio, Suzanne Smith and her family of Saint John, and nephew Eric Chambers and his family of Saint John; her best friend and cousin Dorothy Coates of Sussex; a step-son, Anthony Lamport (Maureen) of Halifax; a step-daughter, Diane Trenwith (Ian) of the United States; a sister-in-law, Alice Chambers - Foster of Prince Edward Island; step-grandchildren Anna Clare, Colin, and Nina; 11 grand nieces and nephews; and special friends and care-givers Erica Lindsay and Norma Ross. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Eva was predeceased by two brothers, Cedric and Glendon Chambers. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM from Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
